The transponder will notify a waiting vessel for pickup once activated. After activation the vessel will arrive after 24 hours and stay for 48 hours. If the Travellers miss this rendevous they will have to figure out their own way out.

Imagine something like this. Keep in mind a fish finder will require you to attach a transducer to the hull of a ship to be useful.
