The king is death...
After the last battle Caius is severly injured, Autun lays hands in order to restore the bard to a more singable state. Expecting more fighting jelly's Bree drinks a potion enabling her to breath fire. The intermission is short, the Irregulars just take a short breather before they head onwards to the large cavern. Where Autun climbs the ramp to a central plateau. It's covered in slime and dotted with pockets that seem to have been hatcheries for oozes. But other that that no sign of the Pudding King can be seen.
The Irregulars venture north. Far away the sounds and screams of battle can be heard. The deep gnome army must have encountered another bunch adversaries. With Rocky moves through the wall scouting ahead of the group and quickly returns, he signs "Danger." At the same time the Irregulars hear a sound behind them: a black pudding approaches. The group gets ready to fight.
A couple of Eldritch Blasts from Bree, arrows from both Kais and Autun and a fiery swipe of Ezri's flame blade significantly hurt the pudding. Then Rocky storms forward and smashes the injured pudding with both his huge stone fists. Compacting the pudding into something that resembles undercooked pankcakes. The sheer amount of force that Rocky throws into his punches make the black goop squirt over Ezri who was still in melee range.
"Ieeeeeuw! It's still warm!!!"
Not a moment passes and two more black puddings drop from the ceiling. One on top of Bree who takes damage as an instant reaction Bree shoots Eldritch blasts at he pudding that hit her and spits out a little flame, still unused to breathing fire. It takes the collecive powers of Sirene, Autun who slashes with Dawnbringer, Ezri's flame blade and Rocky's fists to pound this pudding into a more submissive state. It is Caius who steps up and delivers the final blow with his sword, killing the pudding in one swift but heroic motion. Immediately the Irregulars turn towards the other pudding of which they make short measure.
The Irregulars move on through the caverns looking for the Pudding King. Kais spots something sparkling in the air a bit further down the cave. As soon as Bree sees it too she casts Fairy Fire at the sparkles, two gelatinous cubes light up green. The now glowing cube put up little resistance and are quickly dispatched in a group effort .
The group pushes on. As they hear a voice ahead Rocky disappears into the ground. A platoon of oozes come rushing towards the Irregulars, and move past the groups. Apparently the have more urgent matters to attend than fighting Stool's finest. At that time Rocky rises back up from the ground. The Irregulars feel that they are on the right path and push forward.
The Irregulars find themselves in a large cavern. Remnants of furniture are strewn about, it seems that most of the furniture are benches. As if this room was once was a big waiting room. Ahead the groups spots an old gnome, stooped over a cane. As he spots the Irregulars he runs for it screaming "Get them! Get them!" Again oozes drop from the ceiling. One big black oozes and a slightly smaller yellow one.
"We've got to kill them Princess Ebenmeyer!" The voice of the old gnome is shrill and sounds a bit farther away.
Ezri throws one of the Alchemist's fire potions, but unfortunately misses. Bree's aim with her Eldritch Blast is more accurate. The yellow ooze is moving away, in the direction of the old gnome went. Meanwhile Caius takes significant damage from the black ooze and falls to the floor in the most braves ways a proud warrior could. Ezri now casts a flaming sphere and pushes it into the black ooze. It takes a fell swoop from Autun to finish this ooze. Meanwhile Kais uses his Mage Hand to pour a potion of greater healing down Caius throat.
Sirene locates the ooze that the Pudding King calls Prince Livid and screams at it. The ooze retaliates with a psychic attack, causing Sirene to disappear.
The group moves on in the direct the last heard the old gnome they suspect is the Pudding King. A last grey ooze is retreating further down the room. Autun heads for the Pudding King and gets onto a raised dais where a throne stands. From behind the dais the Irregulars hear a whimpering and a yellow poisonous cloud fills the immediate surrounding of the throne. Ezri moves into the throne room balancing the flaming sphere and decidedly pushes it into the grey ooze, who is finished off by Bree's eldritch blasts.
Up on the dais Autun can't hold his breath and takes damage from the poisonous cloud he finds himself in. Caius runs around the room in order to cut off any exit that the Pudding King could take. Whilst Rocky dashes forward, untouched by the yellow fog, and moves up on the dais. Kais too can't avoid the fog completely and throws a well placed Fire Ball spell engulfing the throne in flames, but missing Autun. The blast moves the yellow fog spreading it through the throne room. It takes two more fire balls from both Ezri and Bree to move cloud away before Caius is finally able to dispel it.
Autun charges behind the throne and Rocky simply steps over it only to discover a cowering whimpering gnome. The Earth Elemental doesn't waste a moment and smashes with his fists into the gnome. Kais gets close thrusting his rapier into the Pudding King who succumbs to the weapon. A strange large booming sound emerges when Kais spears the king.
