Title

State: Kais is standing near Ilvara's corpse and is planning to try to make sure she does not stand up again.

There are two archers in tower F and one on the ground near tower E.

Sirene is near the modern art that is the remains of mage 2.

  • Mage 3 casts lightning bolt at the farmers and kills them.
  • The shadow demon claws at Caius, misses, and then seems to disappear.
  • Autun charges forward with Ijmer and slices the head off of Mage 3 with the sunsword. Sunlight shines from his eyes as he drops.
  • Kais and the archers shoot at the drow, but miss
  • Ezri downs a drow with acid arrow
  • Bree sees the shadow demon hiding and fairy fires it
  • Caius downs the Greater Healing, blade wards, and heads toward the Reckenmark troops. It does 11 points of psychic damage as Caius leaves melee.
  • Reckenmark 1 attacks drow 3; Reckenmark 2 attacks drow 2
  • Rocky attacks drow 1 and thumps two of them.
  • A strange darkness falls. The shadow demon's ears twitch, then it flies after Caius. A rift opens near Ilvara's corpse and an ill wind comes from it. A huge wand with a skull comes through the rift. Seven disembodied spirits come from the rift; the three slain mages rise as noncorporeal creatures; Ilvara rises as an undead creature still covered by the one net. A madness falls upon everyone who saw it (and fails their wis save):
    • Bandel falls unconscious
    • Kais is enraged and will attack the nearest creature
    • Ezri begins babbling in an unknown language
    • Bree is overcome with fear of the rift and must flee from it
    • Archer 1 is frighted and will flee from the rift
    • Reckenmark 1 begins babbling incoherently; Reckenmark 2 hallucinate and have disadvantage on ability checks
    • Rocky will follow orders from anyone that talks to him, and won't do anything else.
    • The four groups of Drow run.
  • Autun hits one of the wraith-mages and severely damages it.
  • Kais hits a disembodied spirit from the rift. The remaining archers also shoot at it.
  • Reckenmark 1 runs toward Caius. Caius casts calm emotions on Bree. Reckenmark 2 charges toward the creatures from the rift.
  • The shadow demon swipes at Caius but misses.
  • The two wraith-mages attack Autun.
  • Four of the undead head for position F. The one that was fighting with Kais tries to attack Kais, but dies from the Booming Blade. It shatters like a mirror in the thunder. The other two attack Rocky but miss.
  • Autun heals himself.
  • Kais attacks another creature with Booming Blade.
  • Mei attacks one of the creatures from the Abyss.
  • Ezri tries to web the deceased mage 1, but the mage is noncorporeal so it doesn't work.
  • Bree moves back toward the battle, and Eldrich Blasts the shadow demon.
  • Reckenmark 1 attacks the shadow demon. Reckenmark 2 follows Mei and finishes off one of the creatures. Caius takes Dodge and encourages Reckenmark to sing more coherently.
  • Rocky attacks the creature in front of him, and smashes it.
  • Ilvara approaches Autun and says that she's been waiting for this moment for a long time. She hits Autun with bludgening damage.
  • The shadow demon attacks Caius but misses. It tries to hide but fails.
  • The wraiths try to attack Autun but miss. One of the creatures attacks Kais.
  • Mei is attacked by one of the creatures. Two of them attack Reckenmark.
  • Kais attacks the creature in front of him with booming blade. The archers shoot the one attacking Mei.
  • Ezri heads toward Autun and Ilvara.
  • Sirene helps Kais.
  • Bree orders Rocky to attack the wraiths.
  • Reckenmark 1 attacks the shadow demon and shreds it. Reckenmark 2 attacks the ones that attacked them. Caius heads toward the square, heading toward Autun's group, leading Reckenmark 1 with him.
  • Rocky is going to head toward the wraith.
  • Ilvara attempts to do something to Autun, but he resists. However, a wraith takes him down. Mage 1 follows Ezri, but misses. One of the specters attacks Kais. Two more attack Reckenmark.
  • Kais takes out a spectre with a crit.
  • Ezri tries to web Ilvara but fails.
  • The nearest creature to Kais is Ezri and Sirene screeches at her.
  • Caius raises Autun with Healing Word and viciously mocks Ilvara.
  • Reckenmark 2 attacks the specters and kills them. Reckenmark 1 catches up to Caius.
  • Rocky smacks a wraith.
  • Ilvara stares at Caius and he is paralyzed until the end of Ilvara's next turn. Caius will be frightened of Ilvara for 1 min. One wraith attacks Rocky, another attacks Ijmer.
  • Autun attacks Ilvara.
  • Kais attacks Rocky but misses. The archers attack the last specter and kill it.
  • Mai heads toward Mage 1, Ezri, and Rocky.
  • Ezri attacks the wraith above her with a silvered sickle.
  • Kais orders Sirene to distract Rocky but it doesn't work.
  • Caius is paralyzed. Reckenmark 2 fires their crossbows at Ilvara. Reckenmark 1 attacks Ilvara, screeching random verses of Reckenmark battle songs. "I'll be back" she whispers as her undead body crumbles to dust.
  • Rocky punches the wraith.

The remaining people take out the wraiths. Autun chases down Bree and holds her until she settles down. Rocky grapples Kais and holds him until the madness clears. Bree, once she regains her sanity, casts Gentle Repose on Volheim.

On Ilvara's body we find:

  • a small pouch with a variety of gemstones; mostly colored; about 1200gp (no diamonds)
  • her Drow insignia; once a day it allows you to enhance one of your abilities (Cat's Grace or Eagle's Splendor)
  • a ring inscribed with tiny eyes. +2 to perception checks
  • a damaged ring. it has a vein of red metal reveals it is a ring of Drow's blood which allows you to cast each of the following: Dancing Lights, Darkness, or Fairy fire (1x day).

Caius recognizes Ilvara's type of undead as a Revenant. If you destroy the body it's inhabiting, it will simply find another one. Getting rid of it requires a Wish spell.
