Flee!

Having dispatched the local Drow, our adventurers descend the cliff walls near the stalactites of Velkynvelve using ropes obtained in armoury. Shuushar offers to guide the group to a safe place where some of his people dwell. They press on through the tunnels without aid of light. Few can see in the darkness, as such Bree takes the lead and Ront takes rear guard. Between them, the rest shuffle forward by feel.

Once far enough away, it is deemed safe enough for Caius to illuminate the tunnels with a magical gentle glow. Yet it is still slow-going. After some time, food is found, even if it is raw mushrooms. Strange cattle-like creatures are seen at one point, and they appear to communicate by emitting glowing lights. The group doesn't know how to communicate with them, but they appear harmless if somewhat persistent in their desire to eat anything that is dropped.

One night Topsy and Turvy wonder off on their own ... later their tracks seem to shift into tracks like giant rodents. The assumption being that they are were-rats. Caius is concerned to leave them behind, but the rest of the group convinces him that they have gone off on their own and the group needs to keep moving.

Another night their camp is webbed-in by giant spiders. Derendil tears the webs asunder in the way that only an animal could. The party hopes this will throw off anyone following them by confusing them. The group moves on.
