Dreaded snakes for locks
Gazing upon the remains of the field of battle where we bested the mad earth Elemental, there is a certain lack of Gnomish Shrine so we venture forward, or better said, downwards.
Back past the waterfall, we find a causeway leading to a grand cavern holding what appears to be a small Battalion of Drow.... Statues. Having been warned about "Living Stone" back in Blingdenstone we did not take their appearance for granite.
Deciding to investigate one of these statues up close so I rope one using the magic rope. We learn something immediately, these things don't like being stringed along! It promptly wakes up and the entire row of neatly arrayed soldiers turn about face and advance towards us!
Our force of Nature, Ezri, makes gravel out of a few of them with intense lightning blasts. Another row wakes up a few seconds later and a fierce battle ensues. We eventually destroy some of them, but more stand ready to wake and assault. Autun leads the charge for the tunnel with the doorway we had noticed earlier.
On our way we happen across some sort of garden growing what seems to be a peering-through-crystal-terrified-gnome-rockfruit! Pushing past this strange display we speed down the tunnel, I quickly drink a healing potion to staunch most of my bleeding.
We proceed down the tunnel and find a room that looks of Deep Elf design. Everything looks old and decayed. In typical drow style there is a throne, on which in true drow fashion a woman and also in true drow insidiousness, her head is covered in a writhing mass of living snakes.
In typical Irregular style we take the head with us.
