Caius shows up with the 22 Reckenmark troops and sets them up in the temple. Autun and Kais update him on the fortifications and the plan.
 
Ezri apologizes to Caius for being mean to him all this time. She reveals that she was angry at Bards because one stole Vayana from her just before the drow stole her to the underdark, but has decided that Caius is probably OK. Caius remarks that this is very classist, but thanks her for the kind remark.
 
Kais talks to Caius about coming to Reckenmark when this is done. Kais says he will come anyway to see the library, and he will train the troops if they will be allowed to use what he teaches them.
 
Caius goes with Bree to cast Tongues so Bree can teach the new signals to Rocky.
 
The night passes uneventfully. We see some baby otters learning to hunt.
 
We erect some torch-holders and some water and sand buckets so that we don't burn the village down.
 
Ezri decides to scout around the outside of town to see if the drow have been up to anything. She finds no sign of activity outside of the caves for the last few days, but when she gets close to the cave a couple of poisoned arrows come flying out. Luckily she shakes off the poison and manages to get back to town.
