After half a night and half a morning worth of sleep our adventurers head out for the day.

Autun goes of to the Stone Guard to keep his appointment with Guard Captain Errde and is joined by Ezri. There he reports about Gorglak's incriminating letter and all our observations and side to Errde. Errde tells them that she already suspected that Gorglak is corrupt, but that she is happy to have proof. She also names Lorthio as a member of the Grey Ghosts, which confirms the suspisions of the party. Errde does not think it is unlikely that the Ghosts would be responsible for stealing the dragon egg from the Keepers of the Flame. Given the state of things, Errde is concerned that it may come to an all-out war between the Keepers of the Flame and the Grey Ghosts. She makes it clear that this would be highly undesirable.

For the information and evidence of corruption within the Stone Guard, Errde pays the promised 150 gold pieces. She also wants to see Werz Saltbaron come in to testify. In addition, she requests that Stool's Irregulars bring in Droki, so that the Guard can question the Derro.

Meanwhile Bree stays in the Inn, brewing the potions for which she got the ingredients from Lorthio's lair.

Kais and Caius head out to the market in order to gather more information and to buy some new vials for Bree's potions. So that when we use or get caught with the potions the vials won't betray that we were in Lorthio's lab.

In the market Kais notices that one of the leather merchants isn't all straight in the head. His prices vary wildly within the conversation. Especially when Caius buys himself a new belt, one with a hidden pocket. Whilst in the market they spot a herd of horse-sized tarantulas being driven through the district. Some of the spiders are ridden by Grey Dwarves. They herding the spiders.

Back in the Inn the landlord also passes on a message that our group should go to the Silversmiths alley and that they visit the third silversmith. In a little shed behind the shop Autun finds Wertz and convinces him to testify in front of Errde. Ensuring that Stools Irregulars will protect him from harm Werz gifts Autun two rings.

When our group is in the the smiths shoppe, Bree stays outside on the lookout being invisible. There she spots Droky shimmying past and she starts to pursue him. That is until she sees Droky hitching himself a ride on the underside of a cart leaving the city walls.

Autun heads back to the Stoneguard to make a new appointment with Errde. This time for her to speak with Wertz.

Kais heads back to the market and tries to learn more about the leather merchant that seems to have lost his mind. Eventually he finds out that the merchant lost his son in a mining accident. About 3 10 days ago there has been an explosion in the mines near the city. Mining accidents aren't that uncommon, but this time no bodies of the missing miners have been found. The grieve of the sudden disappearance of the merchants son drove him to his current state of madness.

Back at the Inn our group reconvenes. Bree shows up and tells about Droky sneaking out of the city. Ezri, knowing a bit about leather inspects Caius' new belt and determines it to be genuine surface-cow leather. She also notices it to be not that old, telling her that the leather merchant must have source for surface goods.

In his drink Kais notices a message. Thieves signals for 'Silence' and 'Death'. Kais quickly figures out that it's a warning for Kaius to be quit about all the things happening in the city. Sharing this with the group Ezri pulls out her axe, putting it against the throat of the bard ensuring that he understands the seriousness of the warning. Secretly she's happy to finally have a proper reason to make the pompous prick shut up.

After dinner the group retires to their rooms for the night. Caius a little hesitant to again share a room with Ezri. Due to the warning Bree casts an alarm spell on the room of Caius and Ezri.

It's another night of dreams.

• Rumpadum dreams of soft pretty colours.
• Autun dreams of numerous baby critters of the woods. Howver they all have extra extremities or ohter strange and horrible mutations
• Bree dreams of wandering throuhg her village, returning all the goods she has stolen over the years back to where they belong. Giving her a great sense of accomplishment.
• Caius dreams of a visit to the barber, having his glorious beard trimmed. Somehow Ezri is doing the shaving and he feels totally comfortable with that.
• Ezri dreams that she is back in the workshop, working on her journeyman's piece. When her hand slowly merges with the chisel she is holding and her arm turns into wood up to her shoulder.
• Jimjar dreams of being in house and surrounded by knitting needles.
• Shuushar dreams of walking through a never ending marketplace.
• Kais doesn't dream of anything, meditating in stead of sleeping.

In the morning Bree gets awakened by the alarming spell she cast last night. Waking up Autun, who dons his armour in record time and having his axe in hand charges into Caius' and Ezri's room. Only to find the two humans still asleep, waking them op in an alarmed state and with Ezri having her hand axe, she apparently sleeps with it, at the ready.

On the floor they find a note that must have been slipped under the door, setting off the alarm. The note written in the Dwarfish language reads: "Follow the surface trail."
